Justine Nameere is a Ugandan lawyer, television personality, former TV/Radio host, producer and politician.
Nameere is best known for hosting a television show called Life Stories that aired on NTV Uganda and Minbuzz that aired on Bukedde TV. She hates injustice and she’s a strong Christian.
On-screen, Nameere is as serious as the context of the show; her character is not quite different from her off-screen personality. Used to asking questions and steering the show.
Early Life and Education
Justine Nameere was born on 17th April 1989 in the central region of Uganda. She attended Namugongo boarding primary school and after that, she joined Buddo Senior Secondary School for her secondary school education.
In her secondary school, Justine Nameere was the president of the Drama club and also the school band.
After completing her secondary school education, Nameere joined Makerere University where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
She later joined the Law Development Center where she was pursuing a diploma in law and managed to graduate with a first-class.
After completing her law course, she joined Makerere University Business School where she obtained a certificate in Business Administration and then she also obtained another certificate in guidance and counselling at Kampala International University (KIU).

Work and Experience
Justine Nameere had a bright start on National television; she began her TV career on NTV Uganda. She hosted the “Life Stories” programme which first aired on March 26, 2012.
Shortly, Nameere rose to fame, as she interviewed several people with unique and touching stories.
The show brought its audience, unique, sad, interesting and amazing stories of people. After a little while, Nameere graced magazines and newspapers who profiled her as a young woman changing lives and making a mark.
Not only did individuals call or write in to offer support to the people in need who she interviewed, but organizations were eager to partner with the programme and do their Corporate Social Responsibility.
The programme also won awards such as the Television Programme of the year during the “Edutainment Africa Awards” in 2012. She was on a roll.
Shockingly, Nameere resigned in not more than two years in 2013. Her fans were surprised and wondered why she quit at a time when her career was blossoming.
Her answer to them was that her manager was a bully, he made her work difficult at the station and she had therefore moved on. Things however took quite a turn, from that point on.
Nameere later took another shot joining Urban TV with the same idea of the show she had at NTV. The new show was titled “Life and People” and it aired every Sunday evening. It however did not last a year.
She then made her way to Bukedde TV, a station hinged on local dialect Luganda, under the same media house. Here, she hosted a show dubbed “Minbuzz”, alongside comedian Dickson Zzizinga. This lasted for about three months.
Her reason for leaving that station was unclear and a notice warning Nameere from the company’s premises was published.
The notice that had Nameere’s picture read: “Attention all officers! Please be advised that Justine Nameere the lady whose face appears in the attached picture is prohibited from accessing the New Vision head office and Pike House. Go ahead and deny her access at all access points till further notice. For further information please contact administration on extension line 158. Thank You!”
But before her TV career, Nameere worked on Best FM, Masaka hosting a youth show on positive living in 2009. She’s also the Director Voices of the Pearl, an NGO she started in 2012.
After completing her law course, she worked as a court clerk in Masaka district at Lukaaya Magistrate Court.
Justine Nameere contested as the Youth Member of Parliament for Kampala but she decided to step down and pull out of the political race just a few weeks to the day of the elections and was even able to get more votes than one of the participants who took part in the elections.
Justine Nameere stepped down to provide more support for the NRM flag bearer who was going to lose to the DP contestant after President Museveni asked her to give up her desire to contest for the case of NRM.
Nameere has been inspired by the current Uganda Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga and also the CNN news reporter Christiane Amanpour who works for the Cable Network Channel owned by Time Warner Company.
She also hopes to be remembered as someone who helped people feel that it is all going to be alright.
Politics
Besides her media career, Nameere tried to follow her father’s footsteps, Minister Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja by joining politics in 2015.
She pitched camp in Kalungu District for several months and when the results for the NRM primaries were announced, she was declared the vice-chairperson NRM Youth League, being in charge right from village to sub-county level.
That very year, Nameere announced that she was going to stand for Youth Member of Parliament Central Region 2016-2021. She, however, backed out of the race a few days to the election for unknown reasons.
She later decided to go for MP Bukoto East Constituency but lost the election to Florence Namayanja.
In 2018, Nameere bounced back and was on TV screens again with a programme called “Omunnyo Ku Makya” on Salt TV. But, in less than a month, she was suspended due to what sources say were indiscipline issues and disrespect she had for her employers.

Controversy
On the 11 of July 2019, Justine Nameere was sent to Luzira prison for six months after failing to pay an Shs55 million debt to the businessman, Emmanuel Muwonge. About a week later, she was released from jail.
Court documents indicated that she sold a Mercedes Benz worth shs55m yet she had placed it as security at Platinum Credits.
Nameere who has moved from one station to another faced a debt scandal in the recent past.
One of those was when she and her ex-boyfriend Raymond Mugimba were dragged to court for failure to pay Shs53m to one Jonathan Nsanabandi who claimed that he was contacted by Visible solutions that are owned by Nameere and her husband to provide Agricultural products to them.
Jonathan Nsanabandi after delivering the products was told he would be cleared in two months but that never happened.
Family/Relationships
Justine Nameere had a relationship with Kagimba Mugimba Raymond and together the two have a daughter who is called Mitchelle Jennifer Kitibwa and also a son called Mugimba Kagimba. She is currently not married.
In the recent past, Justine Nameere trended on social media for engaging in a fight with NTV news presenter Faridah Nakazibwe over a man.
