While campaigning in Rukungiri on Thursday, Kyagulanyi applauded retired Dr Col. Kizza Besigye for nurturing him as a liberation leader.

Not many people remember those who helped them on their way to greatness but Kyagulanyi is different while campaigning in Rukungiri on Thursday, the National Unity Platform (NUP) party presidential candidate applauded retired Dr Col. Kizza Besigye for nurturing him as a liberation leader.

“This is the time to accomplish the mission started by our elder Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye,” Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine said on his campaign rally in support of the former presidential candidate for playing an exemplary role.

Besides, Kyagulanyi also said that the FDC party founder mentored him along with other opposition leaders to take on the liberation struggle from where he stopped.

Besigye has mentored me from my childhood and he used to tell us that he started the mission of liberating Uganda and that we are the ones to complete it, which we are doing now,” Bobi Wine said.

“This is the time to accomplish the mission started by our elder Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye,” he added calling upon voters in Rukungiri to come out in big numbers to vote for him.

Besigye, 64, is a retired military officer and a former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party president.

In the past, the former FDC presidential candidate has contested for presidency four times losing to President Museveni on all occasions including the recent 2016 elections, in 2001, 2006 and 2011.

Bobi Wine yet again was in the company of his wife Barbie Itungo Kyagulanyi. In her statement, she promised the voters that she will be on her husband’s neck to ensure that several infrastructures in Rukungiri district are put to standard.

Barbie Kyagulanyi in particular emphasized that they will build a district referral hospital to help out mostly the women who experience challenges while giving birth.

“I am the one who knows how women suffer giving birth and I know what it means to have all these years without a district hospital. Trust me I will be on his neck until he builds a district hospital here,” Barbie said.

Meanwhile, Kyagulanyi yet again held his campaigns amidst heavy police deployment who kept firing teargas to disperse crowds that tried to force themselves to the campaign venue.

Today, he will be holding his campaign rallies in areas of Rwampara, Ntungamo and Isingiro districts.
