President Museveni has promised to revamp the matooke factory in Bushenyi to add quality to the products being got from matooke.
Museveni said this during his campaign in Bushenyi where he was meeting NRM leaders from Rubirizi, Buhejju, Mitoma and Bushenyi.
This is the second day Museveni is campaigning in Ankole region and yesterday he spent the better part on the day in Mbarara district. But he had earlier commissioned a road before going to St. Kaggwa primary school which was his campaign venue.
President Museveni said the only challenge he was facing in the process of revamping the matooke factory was the parliament that has refused to pass the necessary funds to be used in revamping the factory.
He added that his government has faced the challenge of corruption which leads to swindling of government funds and by the time they reach their intended destinations they can’t make a lot of difference.
“If we can work on the issue of corruption all things will be better. There is a problem of eating package along the way and by the time it reaches its not enough and if we serve well nothing can fail,” President Museveni said
Candidate Museveni sarcastically responded to those people asking him to go by saying that there not serious and besides that, he knows where to go. He also wondered if there noising for food.
“People who shout you go you go, do you think I don’t know where to go? They are not serious and I wonder if there noising for food or war. If people come to work for stomachs, what do you do,” he said.

When he was given a chance to speak Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire advised the NUP flag bearer Kyagulanyi Ssentamu to stick to music and also adding that he didn’t get to Luweero to fight and have presidents like kyagulanyi.
“I like Kyagulanyi so much and I love his music so much but I didn’t go to Luweero to fight and get presidents like Kyagulanyi,” Otafire said.
The NRM chairman for Western Uganda Chris Balyomunsi said that the party was only going to support the NRM official flag bearer and urged those that lost the party primary not to stand as independents but to rally support for the winners.
President Museveni is expected in Ntugamo district where he will also meet NRM leaders.
