While Julius Katongole a youth leader noted that Chaka Chaka’s deportation is a shame and a big insult to Uganda as a country and Buganda Kingdom.

The South African music icon, Chaka Chaka is a close friend and supporter to singer Bobi Wine who turned political leading the People Power Pressure Group and having intentions to stand for Presidency in the coming 2021 general elections.
She arrived in Uganda on Monday, December, 30, ahead of the Buganda Kingdom’s Enkuuka Y’omwaka that was to happen on the 31, December 2019, on Tuesday as the world winds up the year and usher in the new year.
But on Tuesday 31, Police deported Chaka Chaka on grounds that she lacked a visa indicating her intended activities in Uganda.
Speaking about her deportation, Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga said they found out that Chaka Chaka entered Uganda on an ordinary visa of a visitor, yet she came to do music performances which required special visa.
And immigration department acted immediately on the matter, cancelled her temporary visa and security officers accompanied her to Entebbe International Airport and she was taken back to South Africa.
Besides, an insider said Chaka Chaka was deported for refusing to meet President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, because of her open support for Bobi Wine she declared earlier in 2018.
Sources say security had plans of flying Chaka Chaka in a UPDF Chopper from Pearl of Africa Hotel in Kampala where she had camped to make her rehearsals to Kisozi where President Museveni was for a brief talk.
But Chaka Chaka turned down their request even after threatening to be deported. It’s reported that shortly after her refusal, security officers surrounded Pearl of Africa Hotel, instructed Chaka Chaka to stop her rehearsal for a brief private meeting with them.
And amidst the meeting, a UPDF General ruled out that she either meets the President or risk being deported.
But despite the intimidation, the South African singer refused their requests and orders which prompted security to cancel her visa through the Immigration Department and she was immediately returned to South Africa.
