Meanwhile, following an increasing number of infections in the country, the MOH continues to warn all Ugandans to adhere to directives in place such as washing hands, maintaining social distance and wearing of masks or be prepared to face another lockdown.

While addressing the nation recently, the health minister, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng stressed that negligence by many Ugandans is presenting favourable grounds for an increase in the number of COVID-19 infections.

She said that as cases continue to hit larger numbers in Uganda, they might put the country under another and even strict lockdown to be in a position to effectively mitigate the spread of the virus.

“People are no longer following preventive measures. This is evident from what is going in the markets, taxis and bus parks,” the Ministry said recently.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) earlier warned countries worldwide that lifting of the lockdown will make people forget adhering to directives in place to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
