Today, people travel from within Uganda and beyond to observe the different types of reptiles at the sanctuary. Some of the reptiles include snakes, a variety of chameleons, tortoises, crocodiles, and monitor lizards.
Visitors on safari excursions to Uganda can rest assured that it’s a safe environment to be in. Every reptile is well guarded in secure cages. It’s only the crocodiles that move freely in a large pond. But even still, they don’t come into direct contact with humans.
As a tradition, all first-time visitors are handed The African rock python. They are requested to lift it. Call it a test of bravery or welcome to the reptile village but it’s certainly not easy. Not to worry though because all this happens under the guidance of the reptile guides. It’s not easy however for most visitors who fear snakes.
These, usually refuse the task. When viewed from a different angle, this is an opportunity to face one’s fears. After such an experience, one can do anything with lesser worries.
The best part of this trip is that the little children are catered for. They can enjoy feeding the slow and lazy tortoises on green leaves.
