Mafias want to kill me, says Makindye West MP Allan Ssewanyana
Makindye West MP, Allan Ssewanyana is now fearing for his life after he found a written notice outside his gate indicating that he was one of the individuals targeted by the mafias.
The letter revealed that Ssewanyana together with many other people on the list were part of the group the mafias are planning to kill.
In recent years, mafias have been successful in killing their targets with one notable incident happening over the weekend where Sheikh Masudi Mutumba was reportedly shot dead at his home in Iwemba Parish, Iwemba Sub County.
Mutumba’s murder incident took the total to six Sheikhs who have been killed in such a manner including Mustafa Bahiga, Hassan Kirya, Abubaker Kiweewa, Muhammad Kiggundu among others.
Besides, the Sheikhs many other people have been killed in quite a similar way including a social worker, Maria Nagirinya, 28 who was murdered together with her driver Ronald Kitayimbwa.

However, MP Ssewanyana has indicated that he was shocked upon seeing his name among those targeted by the group of unknown mafias.
Ssewanyana who received the notice from one of his bodyguards remained adamant about why he was targeted but confirmed that it must be coming for a bad reason.
“On Saturday, one of my assistants at home who was heading to the shop found these notices in front of my gate.

These papers which were spread around my constituency indicate that I am among those people who are wanted most. I don’t know for which reasons but I don’t think it’s for good reasons,” Ssewanyana implied.
He further promised to raise the complaint before parliament because a similar incident has happened to many legislators.
Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine, Moses Kasibante, Francis Zaake, Egunyu Nantume, Theodore Ssekikubo, Medard Lubega Sseggona, Betty Nambooze are some of the few legislators to have received such notices.
“I am going to parliament to inform the house about this incident, Hon members who are on this list have called me that even in their areas they have received similar threats like Hon Kasibante Moses,” he said.

He, however, rules out reporting the case to the police because they no longer trust the law and order making group.
“I don’t need to report to police because we no longer trust them. That’s is a bitter fact,” Ssewanyana added in discomfort.
