I want you people of Kisoro to ask President Museveni to come with Kayihura if he is to campaign in Kisoro, Kyagulanyi added.
In Western Uganda Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, the national unity platform presidential candidate began campaigning in the Kisoro, Rubanda, Rukiga and Kabale districts.
His wife Barbie Itungo was with him on the campaign trail. She also called on people to vote for her husband as she eyes the position of the first lady.
Taking part in the campaign, Kyagulanyi and his wife Barbie were welcomed by a large number of crowds in the Kisoro district, but it should be recalled that he was summoned by the Electoral Commission for the procession, but it appears that the caution had fallen to the surly eyes.
Kyagulanyi promised the people of Kisoro to construct an airport for them to ease transport and the business.
“I want to return to Kisoro not to open a prison but to open an airport,” kyagulanyi said.
Kyagulanyi also criticized president Museveni for using General Kale Kayihura and dumping him after he had done all the dirty work. He also put President Museveni at task to come campaign in Kisoro with Kayihura.
Kisoro is the home district of the former Inspect General of Police Kayihura who is taken to be a hero in this district and no wonder Kyagulanyi‘s message rotated around the former IGP.
Kyagulanyi said he had warned his friend Kayihura about the personality of Museveni.
“Everything General Kale Kayihura did he was working on the orders of Museveni. But after using him he betrayed him and even General Kale Kayihura can’t come home. I want you people of Kisoro to ask president Museveni to come with Kayihura if he is to campaign in Kisoro,” Kyagulanyi added.
Kisoro bordered Rwanda but currently, the border is closed with Uganda in diplomatic cases but Kyagulanyi promised to settle this issue and to open up the frontiers as most people in Kisoro are dealing with Rwanda and most people now are unemployed as it is now closed.
“We the people of Uganda have no problem with the people of Rwanda and there is no reason why the borders are closed. Why are people‘s businesses closing down. Those are Museveni’s problems because he wants to show that he is a boss,” kyagulanyi said.
He ended his campaign message in Kabale and today (Thursday, December 17, 2020) Kyagulanyi Ssentamu takes his campaign message in Mitoma, Kanungu and Rukungiri still in Western Uganda.
