Anita Beryl is a Ugandan fashion designer, creative director, couturier and entrepreneur. She is the director of Beryl Qouture, a Ugandan fashion house.
Anita is an inspiration to most of the upcoming fashion designers in Uganda and Africa especially the girls who would wish to join the industry.
Early life and education
Anita birth name Anita Beryl Ahikiriza was born on 11th January 1986 in Bushenyi Uganda. She comes from the family of Rev. and Mrs Ahabwe both in the Bushenyi District.
She attended Masheruka primary school, and then she joined Bweranyangi girl’s secondary school for O level and A level and left in 2005.
Later, she joined Uganda Christian University Mukono for a Bachelor of Arts in Education majoring in literature and English.
She also went to the uber Glam school of fashion design in South Africa and the school of French fashion in Dubai. Anita did her teaching practice at Kyambogo college school.
Media & Fashion Career
Anita Beryl started her career in 2011 when she founded Beryl Quoture as an Haute qouture and ready to wear clothing and accessory franchise for all genders.
Her label was invited to participate in local, regional and international fashion shows including Accra fashion week in Ghana and Swahili fashion week in Tanzania in 2010 alone.
In 2017 she was invited to showcase her designs at the world fashion week 2017, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Her expanding client base includes clients in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, the United Kingdom and other countries.
Anita also showcased her design at fashion shows in Nigeria, Addis Ababa, Barcelona and Mombasa.
