Morethan 10 arrested for pelting Bebe Cool with bottles during Cindy’s Boom Party concert
Police have confirmed the arrest of 11 suspects for pelting bottles at singer Moses Ssali also commonly known as Bebe Cool during Cindy’s Boom Party concert held at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
According to the police spokesperson, Fred Enanga the arrested group is suspected to have been among the section of fans who hurled bottles towards the ‘Wire Wire’ hitmaker as he was performing on stage.
Enanga says that preliminary investigations also indicated that five of them entered the concert with plastic soda bottles determined to throw them at the musician when he gets to the stage to perform.
“Our covert officers were able to arrest 11 people who were involved in throwing bottles, preliminary investigations indicate that five of these entered the concert with plastic soda bottles waiting for him to get to the stage and disrupt his performance,” Enanga said.

Enanga’s statement comes only hours after First Son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba accused police of not doing enough to protect musicians, more so those who support and work for the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
“How could Police and the bouncers at Cindy’s concert allow a few hooligans to hurl bottles at one of Uganda’s greatest artists? The same hooligans beat up women (on Women’s Day) for simply loving President Museveni and Bebe Cool. We expect a lot better next time from the Uganda

Bebe Cool is not the first victim, many artists mostly those loyal to the ruling NRM party and President Museveni have been at the receiving end of bottles while entertaining fans at various music concerts.
He joins the list of many including fellow singer Big Eye who was rescued off the stage by the security following last year’s performance at Uganda Museum as NBS Television’s UNCUT celebrated its first anniversary.
Other notable incidents have happened over the last few years including the one that saw Catherine Kusasira hurled with bottles and insults while performing at Nabugabo Sand beach in Masaka on Boxing Day last year.
In the same year 2019, another NRM diehard and musician, Full Figure also experienced similar same stage torture.
