Ugandan artist Bobi Wine has released a song aimed at raising awareness of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, as his country puts a new restriction to curb the spread of the deadly virus.
Bobi Wine has joined forces with Nubian Li to stress the importance of personal hygiene in the fight against coronavirus, which has claimed over 26,000 lives around the world.
“The bad news is that everyone is a potential victim. But the good news is that everyone is a potential solution,” raps in the Coronavirus song.
“Sensitise the masses to sanitise. Keep a social distance and quarantine,” he added.
Ten hours after the release of the song, it gained more than 700,000 views on social media and people praised the legislator’s message.
On Sunday the nation with 42 million people registered its first case and has since put restrictions on travel and banned public meetings.
Uganda has 23 cases of coronavirus, including an eight-month-old boy, as reported by Health Minister Ruth Aceng.

Earlier today, Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness praised the effort made by Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu to create the Coronavirus awareness song.

Nelson Chamisa, the leader of the Democratic Change Movement in Zimbabwe, also thanked Bobi Wine for using his talent to spread information through music.

Dr Kizza Besigye, a four-time Ugandan presidential candidate, also voiced his appreciation for Bobi Wine’s popular coronavirus awareness song on twitter.
