Bobi Wine refutes claims by President Museveni of foreign funding.
The National Unity Platform (NUP) party presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has once again rubbished claims that he is funded by foreign groups.
On notable scenes, President Museveni has been recorded in places where he has campaigned telling his voters that Bobi Wine’s political drives are supported by western groups including those of homos#xuals.
“I know Kyagulanyi and the fools supporting him who don’t know Uganda very well. These include foreigners and others who are here but I know all them. I know that this one is a fool and the other one,” Museveni made the remarks recently while addressing NRM party leaders from regions of Hoima City, Buliisa, Kikuube, Hoima, Kiryandongo and Masindi.
However, while holding his campaign trial in Ibanda district on Monday, Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine rubbished the allegations noting that Ugandans are his only true funders.
Kyagulanyi said that in every district where they hold their rallies, people who love them sponsor them with essentials including food and fuel.
“Even if Mr Museveni keeps saying we’re funded by foreigners, all our fuel for today was bought by the people of Ibanda and we also have some balance to eat some chicken today,” Kyagulanyi said while holding his campaigns in districts of Ibanda, Rushere, Kitagwenda and Kazo.
For all the places where he held his rallies, the police were yet again deployed heavily and they fired teargas to disperse his crowded supporters.
However, he was able to hold his campaigns successfully. The people of Ibanda also gave him a new “Muzahura”.
In his speech, the NUP presidential candidate sent his strong applauds to the people of Ibanda for showing strong courage amidst police’s deployment.
“I just want to say thank you Ibanda. The police and military sealed off the town and intimidated people from coming to listen to our message of freedom.It is only the brave ones that attended our campaign today, so that means that in Ibanda the brave ones are so many,” Kyagulanyi noted.
In Rushere and Kazo where he also held his campaigns, Kyagulanyi received overwhelming love from the masses who had already flooded the roads to have a glance at him.
Meanwhile, Kyagulanyi did not hold campaigns in Kitagwenda because he arrived late. In a statement, he blamed it all on the police that kept stopping them on every roadblock.
Today, he will be heading to districts of Kamwenge, Kikuube and Kakumiro.
