Tourists visiting Murchison Falls National Park can decide to explore the park by hot air balloon for UGX 925,000 for East African citizens; this package does not include the Bush breakfast meal plan.

Alternatively, for $380 per person, you may take a hot air balloon tour of the national park, which includes a continental sunrise bush breakfast made and served by professional chefs from Paraa Safari Lodge.

Murchison Falls National Park is located in the Masindi area in northern Uganda. The national park is located approximately 279 kilometres from Kampala, a drive of approximately 412 hours.

There is so much to see and do in this national park including a hot air balloon safari tour.

Visitors in hot air balloons are flown as high as 10,000 feet above Murchison Falls National Park in Uganda. The pilot then lowers to around 330 meters, providing spectators with a 360-degree perspective of the entire park.

While in the air, visitors can witness incredible wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, and birds.

The hot air balloon can carry a maximum of eight passengers, excluding children under the age of six. This is because the altitude at which hot air balloons are flown might make children feel dizzy and anxious.

The sunrise hot air balloon safari tour in Murchison Falls national park is more fascinating since people arrive early to see the balloons fill with air and then take off for an hour in space at a height similar to tree height.

Sunrise hot air ballooning begins at 5:00 a.m. and lasts until 9:30 a.m.

This period includes transportation to the starting point, briefing, witnessing the balloons being prepared by pumping in the air, taking off into the sky to view a variety of sights including the sunrise and wildlife, returning to the ground after an hour of fascinating adventure, enjoying a bush breakfast and a bottle of Champagne after landing amidst wild mammals, receiving a certificate and meet with your driver to enjoy the morning game drive.

For those interested in the Murchison Falls National Park sunset/evening hot air balloon tour, it begins at 4:00 pm and concludes at 6:30 pm

The highlight of this evening trip is the opportunity to view the sunset over the horizon. Additionally, visitors can observe wildlife as they retire to their dens at the end of the day.

Furthermore, you will get the opportunity to observe nocturnal wildlife including lions, bush cubs, and civets as they begin their hunt for prey.

However, evening ballooning does not come with the same perks as sunrise ballooning, which includes Champagne and a bush breakfast.

After sunset ballooning, tourists can either continue on a night wildlife drive in the park or return to their separate lodges for dinner and an overnight stay.

The fee charged to visitors for hot air balloon safari trips at Murchison Falls National Park covers fees such as flight insurance, pilot fee, and third-party insurance.

The greatest time to explore Uganda’s Murchison Falls National Park on a hot air balloon safari is during the park’s dry seasons, which run from December to February and June to September.

Visitors can readily observe wildlife during this season, as the animals often congregate around the national park’s water basins.

Visitors can also enhance their safari experience by combining the hot air balloon safari tour with other Murchison Falls National Park activities, which include a guided game drive, a boat cruise on the Albert Nile, sport fishing, birding, a hike to the top of the falls, a guided nature walk, and a community cultural visit, to name a few.

Visitors to Murchison Falls for hot air ballooning can stay at resorts such as Chobe safari lodge, Boomu women’s camp, Shoebill campground, UWA cottages, and Paara safari lodge, among others.
