Late Nebanda’s family threaten to petition Speaker Kadaga over Nantaba’s loose remarks
Late legislator, Cerina Nebanda’s mother has distanced herself from the shocking claims made by the Kayunga Woman legislator, Idah Nantaba on the floor of Parliament that she received a telephone call from Nebanda’s mother warning her about the People planning to assassinate her.
Nebanda’s family has now given Nantaba 14 days to apologise over the loose statements or else they will petition the office of the Speaker to call her to order.
This was during the Tuesday 20th, January, first Parliamentary sitting in the year in 2020 chaired by Speaker Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga.
“I received a phone call from Celina Nebanda’s mother, she told me Hon Nantaba you are going to be killed, the very person who killed my daughter is going to kill you,” Nantaba stated.

However, Nantaba’s statement has not gone well with the mother of the late Nebanda, Alice Namulwa Mukasa who has come out to disown Nantaba’s alleged statement.
“It shocked me! Hon Nantaba should fight her war alone, she should leave Nebanda’s family. The whole family we are back in trauma,” Mukasa said.

Mukasa accused Nantaba of not attending her Nebanda’s burial ceremony and said she last saw her during funeral prayers of which she left before the prayer session ended.
“Before the prayers ended! I don’t know what happened, she (Nantaba) slipped and went away. Even when we were in the church, she didn’t even appear there. This is the lady who didn’t even go to Butaleja to burry Cerina Nebanda,” Mother said.

The family, however, asked Nantaba to leave Nebanda’s soul rest in peace.
“And we know very well God prepares for everybody’s life and period on this earth. I remained contented that that was her arrangement by God that she will only take 24 years on this earth,” mother said.
