Mike Mutyaba scores 3 as relentless KCCA FC prove too good for Arua giants Onduparaka

Following a poor run of results, Mike Mutyaba gives Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) comfortable win against Onduparaka Football Club at StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.

Defending champions KCCA FC have demolished Onduparaka FC at Lugogo to get their title-defence prospects back on track.

A hattrick from Mike Mutyaba after Sadat Anaku’s first-half opener wrapped up a 4-0 win for the Kasasiro Boys.

33 minutes into the game, youngster, Sadat Anaku broke the deadlock to put KCCA 1-0 ahead. It was his first-ever goal in the topflight league.

Mutyaba almost added another but had his powerful strike rattled the crossbar to keep the score in KCCA’s favour at half time.

On the resumption, Mutyaba had his name marked on the score sheet after he converted to make it 2-0 in the 63rd minute.

Five minutes later, Mutyaba doubled his tally from a quickly taken corner kick by Mustafa Kizza to cement KCCA’s lead.

Mike Mutyaba completed his hat trick with a penalty goal after Anaku was fouled by right-back Atendere Geriga in the box.

Mutyaba’s hattrick means that he is the first player to score a hat trick this season. He has been a phenomenal player for the club since he made a U-turn to football.

Mike Mutyaba resigned in February 2017 after being released SC Vipers and resorted to playing Futsal with Dream FC in the National Futsal league where he emerged top scorer.

Knowing his ability, KCCA FC manager, Mike Mutebi gave him an opportunity and since then the forward has looked completely a different player.

Mutyaba who can play as a midfielder and a striker has played competitive football for many teams including Wembley boys, Standard high Zana FC, Bunamwaya, Vipers SC, Express FC. He has also played for TP Mazembe (DRC) and EL Merrik (Sudan).

Meanwhile, the win is also a sign of relief for Coach Mike Hillary Mutebi and his boys after a long run of poor results including last week’s 1-0 loss to Tooro United and a one-all draw with Bright Stars.

The win put an end to KCCA’s five matches winless run in all competitions and temporarily move to the eighth place on the table with 10 points.

Onduparaka slip to the third place on 15 points but behind SC Villa courtesy of goal difference.

Next on the card for KCCA will be a home duel against Kyetume next Tuesday while Onduparaka will host Tooro United on 30th October in their next game.
