Ssendi Mosh professionally Mr Mosh is a veteran dancehall musician, a radio presenter at Galaxy FM where he co-hosts an evening show with Prim and Lito Jo, television host of Cheza.com musical show on Spark Television, events emcee, CEO Creative Africa which is an events company. 

He has recently joined politics to contest in 2021 General Election for Makindye East III LC.5 Councilor.

Early Life and Education

Ssendi Mosh alias Mr Mosh was born in 1980 to the late Hassan Wasswa in Seeta, Mukono district in the central region of Uganda. His father was a military pilot. 

For his primary education, Mr Mosh went to Shimoni Primary school. He then joined St. Francis Secondary School for his ordinary level of education. Mosh also went to Old Kampala Secondary school for his Advanced Level of education.

During his A’ Level, Mosh Ssendi alias Mr Mosh lost his mother and he had earlier on lost his father at a tender age of 5years.

After the death of both parents, Mosh faced hardships in life and at this point, he had to choose either to drop out of school so that he could take care of his siblings or maintain his education up to University level.

He decided to drop out of school and look after his siblings helping them complete their primary and secondary education.

He has of late joined Cavendish University for his Bachelor in Journalism and Mass Communication.

Watching him on Spark TV or listen to him on Galaxy FM, Mr Mosh sounds as young as 25 years old but he’s above 39 years old.

Family

Mr Mosh is a father to one son though he doesn’t stay with the mother still takes his fatherly roles seriously. His son mostly stays with the mother in Entebbe. 

He is, however, a ladies’ man that is attracted to brown ladies. Most of his Exs, if you flashback, they all hold the same traits but he doesn’t do a Public Display of Affection.

Music Career

Similar to many kids as Mr Mosh grew up, he wanted to become a pilot just like his father. Unfortunately, he was poor at science subjects so he decided to stick to the arts. 

Mosh loved music and he, therefore, started writing and emceeing while in S.3 at a now-defunct St Francis Secondary School in Kampala.

While at Old Kampala SS, Mr Mosh approached a certain DJ who had come to play music during a renowned Kadanke party seeking for an opportunity to perform before students. 

The DJ played him a soundtrack to one of the Jamaican songs where he staged a thrilling performance which was loved by the students making him a celebrity among his peers.

He then started organizing school shows around Kampala and other surrounding districts where he would host the events. 

On a certain show, he met a friend who took him to Texas, a place on Kampala road where he met some of Uganda’s top artists who at the time were still upcoming musicians. 

These musicians included Bebe CoolJose Chameleon and Bobi Wine.

The three artists were free-styling before their fans and so Mr Mosh got a chance to exercise the talent. His performance greatly welcomed by the crowd and after he started getting some recording gigs with different artists. 

Mr Mosh recorded a song with the Blue3 which included songstresses like Lillian Mbabazi, Cinderella Sanyu and Jackie Chandiru.

He further recorded a song with Ngoni group dubbed Digi. The Ngoni group was managed by Steve Jean at the time and therefore the song became popular bringing Mr Mosh into the limelight.

Mr Mosh also testifies being touched by Bennie Man’s story, Shaggy and Sean Paul. He loved the way they packaged their art and that they started from poor backgrounds but their music has ruled the world. 

Mosh has therefore been lucky to meet all of these artists and also performed alongside them on stage.

Radio Career

In his childhood, he spent most of his time with a radio listening to popular Ugandan radio presenters at the time such as Roger Mugisha who used to work at Capital FM, Omulangira Ndausi and Rasta Rob

These people built his passion for media mostly radio although when he was young, he yearned to become a pilot like his fallen father. 

Mr Mosh alias Ssendi was already in the limelight when he quitted WBS Television, he heard about a new radio station called Galaxy FM opening up in town. 

He became a presenter hosting an evening show with Prim and Lito Jo. He has won many awards for the best radio personality.

Television Career

After recording some music with Ugandan artists, one of his friends informed him about a new television station called WBS which was in the process of recruiting employees as television hosts. Mr Mosh decided to go for interviews aspiring for a television host position.

It was that time when celebrated Television personality Straka Mwezi Baibe was also working at the station hosting a popular show at the time called The Late show.

Mr Mosh succeeded with the interviews where he hosted Top of the charts show where he was reviewing the Top songs of the week every Saturday. He worked at WBS television for some months and later decided to quit due to unclear reasons.

While working with Galaxy FM, Mr Mosh was recruited by Nation Media group which was then opening new women based television station called Spark TV at Serena Hotel. 

He hosts an afternoon show called Cheza.com which plays music and other segments like #ChezaChallenge.

Politics 

It was through his social media pages that the renowned media personality, Mr Mosh (born Ssendi Mosh) made his first public announcement about his contest for Makindye East III LC. 5 Councilor.

In his post, he asked his followers and fans to support him in the upcoming elections by sharing the same post around all social media platforms.

“Let’s make this our FB, IG, Twitter x WhatsApp profiles/status pic as we officially launch this project. I fully appreciate your support & your advice and counsel is also needed.

  • MISSION: In life, one needs to be involved to effect positive change. I’ve decided to start with my area of residence Makindye East III.
  • YOUTH: My goal is to make sure that the youth in my area are involved in every decision-making process & are given opportunities to prosper through organized development projects, sports, skills and talent development & promotion.
  • WOMEN: There are more women than males in my area so issues like security, job inequality, girls lacking sanitary pads in ghetto areas, hygiene issues in markets need to be dealt with at council level.
  • VISION: To create a positive, exemplary and environment that’s favourable to all residents from different backgrounds and lead by example. #MrMosh2021 LC5 Councillor Makindye East III” posted Mr Mosh.

Controversies

Despite teen looks, jeans, T-shirts, big boots and cap, Mr Mosh is not s recent campus graduate. In the 2000s, Mr Mosh was emceeing at now-defunct DV8 on Wilson street road. 

He joined music particularly dancehall and formed the Jungle Beat Crew which had artists like Sweet Kid, Rocky Giant and Dorothy Bukiirwa. He featured many artists like Ngoni group, Blue3 and Obsessions, Nubian Queen with Dorothy.
