Kabaka summoned by Mukono High Court over land grabbing accusations’.

Mukono High Court has issued a summon to Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi 11 overland grabbing accusations’.

Kabaka Mutebi is accused of grabbing land in Buikwe District, Nyanama – Buwera Kyagwe County belonging to Abby Mutyaba, Christopher Katende, Paul Kaliga and Charles Mugambe residents of Buwera Village, Ssi Sub County.

The accusers say the land taken away illegally by Kabaka belonged to their late grandfathers’ estate Block 472, Plot 6 measuring 122 acres.

Baganda and Ssekatawa Advocates, complainants lawyer said that the four inherited the contested land from their late Grandfather Yosufu Mukasa, who worked then in Lubiri.

Complainants say they lost the original duplicate of title and when they tried to process a special certificate of land title, the whole process went unsuccessful.

According to them, the process was blocked by Kabaka and Elbright Ssembogo Kalule who had claimed ownership of the property.

The family now seek court’s order to evict Kalule out of this land and have the land title in his name nullified, and have them announced as the rightful owners of the property until their case is heard.

The family sued Kabaka along with other people including Mr Elbright Ssemboga Kalule, a businessman in Kampala, Mukono District registrar of tittles, and Buganda Kingdom official, David Nsereko who serves as an adviser on Kabaka’s private land in the Kingdom.

Nsereko who is on the defence team said that they are well prepared to defend themselves in court because the land was obtained legally.

“We are ready to defend ourselves in court because the piece of land we sold belonged to the Kabaka and we followed all processes.”
