Former State House Press Secretary Tamale Mirundi was on 25th February 2020 rewarded with a brand-new car – black Mitsubishi Pajero costing Shs300M by President Museveni.

This brand-new car is having a State House registration number UG 4008C.

On his weekly show on the Kamwokya based local television station NBS TV dubbed One on One with Tamale Mirundi, the celebrant made it a point to confirm the rumours that circulated on social media and also took his moderator Kazibwe Bashir for a brief car excursion.

“I was in the statehouse and I worked so hard for President Museveni that’s why I am his favourite friend. They had taken my car sometime back when it had worn-out and so am not astonished because this is just a replacement for it. I have always been using my cars,” stated Tamale

Tamale Mirundi worked in the State House for twelve years and according to him, he said the president is rewarding him for his tremendous efforts while he was still an employee as State House press secretary.

Additionally, Mirundi exposed how his contract with the statehouse is still on though there are those around the president who wished for its termination.

“My contract with State House is still actively being renewed by the President himself. But I know there are people around him who tried to convince him to terminate it though he refused. The president loves me, “revealed Tamale Mirundi on NBS TV.

Having acted as the Presidential press secretary for twelve years on the current regime, Tamale Mirundi self-described as President Museveni’s “Barking Dog” was in 2012 succeeded by Lindah Nabusayi his Longtime Assistant who was a former journalist with Daily Monitor and The Weekly Observer.

President Museveni has frequently gifted the brand-new car to different people including artists like Bebe Cool, Catherine Kusasira, Full Figure and others consequently Tamale Mirundi holds that though others have received cars from the president for his case is different because he even got its card on spot unlike them.

The Presidential media advisor who was reassigned by President Museveni cleared that this token isn’t a trick to tame his prominence among the public but rather a simple portion of thankfulness and so it isn’t a move to blurred his light.

“President Museveni has for long been my friend thought he might not be easily accessible. What I understand he never at one time forgets his trustworthy servants,” assured Mirundi.
