Inaugural Social Media FestUg to happen on 25th January at Silver Springs Hotel 

The annual event Inaugural Social Media FestUg organized by Spotlight Publications Ltd, publishers of Business Focus, is scheduled for 25 January 2020 at the Silver Springs Hotel Gardens in Bugoloobi.

The event will take place under the theme: Redirecting Social Media to Impactful Social Networking Engagements.

The festival is simply meant to bring real social media experience in a venue with free WIFI where all social media engagements will be live on giant screens.

The event will see social media revellers treated to a mix of informative and fun activities basing on the vision below.

“Social Media FestUg’s vision is to be the biggest marketing social event in the region bringing all brands in direct contact with their audience,” Amon Baita, Head of Marketing, said.

This event is mainly powered by Uganda Communications Commissions (UCC) and the Ruparelia Group of Companies.

The other key partners are National Information Technology Authority-Uganda-NITA-U (internet partner), Next Communications, NBS TV and Nxt Radio (Media partners) and Uganda Breweries Ltd who will ensure revellers get drinks at affordable prices.

Amon Baita, Head of Marketing at the Social Media Fest, is not only aimed at streamlining the social media industry but efficient and competent contact between users.

Inaugural Social Media FestUg will also raise awareness and encourage digital marketing and e-commerce among Ugandans and enhance the impactful use of social media through engagement with end-users.

Amon Baita says that this Social Media Festival will unite together individuals, social media groups, bloggers, influencers, government agencies, digital marketing agencies, exhibitors and various brand and organizers under one roof to network and learn more how best to benefit from social media platforms.

There are companies which have already booked space for exhibition as Amon said:

Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), Eco bank, Davis & Shirtliff among others have already booked space to showcase their various digital innovations and products.”

Baita, therefore, calls upon other companies with digital products or services and those using social media platforms to better their service delivery to book space not only to exhibit but also network and get feedback from end-users of their products physically.

Amon adds that the event will have interactive sessions where various topics relating to ICT and internet, PR Management and marketing and branding on social media among others will be discussed.
