Steven Dunstan Busuulwa is a Ugandan renowned Journalist and talk show host.
He began his journalism career at Top Television/Top Radio 89.6 FM, a Born Again based station owned by a city pastor Jackson Senyonga in Bwaise, a Kampala suburb.
Busuulwa worked as a news writer, presenter, News Editor and the station’s manager at Top Radio/Television for 15 years. He resigned from the Top media giant in June 2020 and joined the Buganda Media giant BBS Terefayina hosting a political talk show dubbed ‘Amaaso Ku Ggwanga’ replacing veteran journalist, Peter Kibazo.
Shortly, Busuulwa was promoted and now is the BBS’s, Chief Operations Officer.
Busuulwa is known for his calmness and professional touch in handling political shows. His dream is to be one of the BBS personalities. And his advice to media scholars at all levels is, “If you want to earn from media, be persistent, aggressive, and have passion for reading in all that you want to achieve.”
Early life and Education
Steven Dunstan Busuulwa attended St. Balikuddembe Mitala Maria Senior Secondary School, Buwama. This where he began nurturing his journalism career, as a young boy he always gave his life to reading News Papers for him to be informed and also be able to inform others.
Busuulwa was the editor of Voice of Mitala (VOM) a news based magazine that was in the position of reporting and reading. His father was also in the centre, he inspired him to be what he is now because he says that he could fail to bring him food on visiting days so that he gets him News Papers for him to read while at school.
Busuulwa’s father always encouraged whosoever wishes to join media and everybody seeking knowledge and information. He says if you are not informed, you are deformed.
After completing Secondary School at St. Balikuddembe Mitala Maria Secondary School, Busuulwa joined the International Institute of Business and Media Studies located along Old Kampala where he did his Diploma and Ndejje University where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism.
At Ndejje University, Busuulwa used to write articles for different media houses which he said was not an easy task.
Steven Dunstan Busuulwa is married to Jackie Nabisubi. They spent seven years cohabiting before legalizing their affair and together they have children. Dunstan and Jackie met in the early 90s during their primary school days.
The two attended the same primary school and began dating in their secondary school in Senior One at St. Balikuddembe Mitala Maria in 1996. However, Jackie left the school but they kept in touch with each other until Busuulwa completed University.
After his graduation, Busuulwa proposed to Jackie in early 2004. The proposal was asking Jackie to move in with him and start a life together, and then seven years down the road, the two conducted a church marriage.
