A call for nominations for the 2021 Buzz Teenz Awards has been issued ahead of the show, slated for December 19.
Buzz Events, the organization behind the awards, has released a list of categories for the Buzz Teenz Awards 2021.
As the youth voice of Uganda, the BTA is supported by MTN Pulse. Nominations and voting are restricted to youth 20 years and younger.
The Buzz Teenz Awards celebrates the peers, idols, and businesses that influence them positively, while also providing rich entertainment.
Buzz Teenz Awards nominations for 2021 are now open on www.vote.buzzteenz.com and close on November 19.
Voting begins on 20th November, and the grand finale will be on 19th December. The top four nominees in each category will be announced on 19th November for the voting phase.
There are now 20 categories in all, with some notable new ones added to this year’s edition.
The ‘NXT Big Thing’
The idea behind this category is to highlight the talent that hasn’t broken out yet but is already recognized by their peers. It differs from the “breakout star” category.
The ‘NXT Big Thing’ is the one who has traction but is hoping for a big break.
The hottest ‘TikToker’
There is no ignoring the growth of TikTok and teenage content creators, who have built massive audiences and engagement.
The hottest ‘TikToker’ has already been debated, and what better way to settle it than a BTA vote.
The TikTok sound
Throughout the pandemic, TikTok has been a major force with music and several artists have given us different challenges with their music. It’s time to nominate your favourite TikTok song challenge.
Streaming of the Buzz Teenz Award 2021 winners will take place on Magic 1 TV and on social media at 2pm on Sunday 19th December via Buzz Teenz Facebook and the MTN Uganda YouTube channel.
