The Trade

A new action and criminal drama called The Trade was inspired by actual Nigerian occurrences. The film relates the tale of Eric, an infamous kidnapper whose name is all that is known about him. He wreaked havoc for more than ten years in the southern region of Nigeria.

Jade Osiberu and Amazon partnership films are the producers of The Trade. Along with Rita Dominic, Kelechi Udegbe, Yemi Solade, Stan Nze, Ali Nuhu, Waje Irugbe, Chiwetalu Agu, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Nengi Adoki, and Abayomi Alvin, it stars other Nollywood celebrities.

The love of her life, Alex, is introduced to Bolanle in this film, but maintaining their relationship requires them to both fight through the pandemic-related uncertainty lockdown. Starring Femi Ajase, Harriet Akinola, and Teniola Aladese; written by Amaka Chidioka and Abosi Ogba.



One of the top Nollywood films to be shown on Prime Video in January 2023 is Imade. Produced by Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi, the film depicts the tale of Imade, a lady who attempts to find employment to support her devoted husband but encounters obstacles and shocks along the way.

Talented Yoruba performers from Imade include Lateef Adedimeji, Mo Bimpe Adedimeji, Deyemi Okanlawon, Blessing Obasi, and Toyin Abraham. It’s now available on Prime Video.

The Perfect Arrangement

Tade, a young fashion entrepreneur and the only child of politician and businessman Kaleijaiye is the subject of the film. Tade was living the Barbie World dream until her family’s business faced bankruptcy and the possibility of losing its oil field.

Gangs Of Lagos

Producer of Brotherhood Jadesola Osiberu’s action-packed and romantic film is a well-known Nollywood creation. Following the death of their father figure, three friends must fight for their lives in a vicious gang war.

Tobi Bakre, Damilola Ogunsi, Yinka Quadri, Bimbo Ademoye, and other AMVCA 2023 nominees are among the cast members of Gangs of Lagos. There are also some Nigerian musicians there, such as Zlatan Ibile, Pasuma, and Chike. Gang of Lagos can be viewed on Prime Video.

The Blood Covenant

Inkblot’s The Blood Covenant, a new money rituals-themed thriller from Nollywood, was released after Nigeria’s Federal Government accused the industry of being to fault for the problem with money rituals there. The movie was revealed just two weeks after the Federal Government essentially asked that filmmakers stop retelling financial rituals in films.

The film’s producers, Chinaza Onuzo (Superstar, The Set Up), and Chiemeka Osuagwu, who developed the screenplay together, claimed that their target was to show how harmful money rituals can be. The Blood Covenant is a more cinematic take on the long-standing Nollywood favourite, even if its purpose is the same as that of other filmmakers who have previously explored the same issue.

Four Four Forty-Four

This Nollywood psychological drama, which is set in the early 1940s, chronicles. The film is based on the true events of two ideal people who will have their world turned upside down by a terrifying incident that occurs on their wedding night.

One of the top Nollywood films on Amazon Prime Video in 2023 is Four Four Fourty-Four. This pair now has to traverse a world full of nightmares as a result of a sequence of events that raise the unflattering aspects of social prejudice against mental health. 


A family comedy from Nigeria called Palava was made in 2022 by Inkblot Productions and FilmOne Entertainment. It was first shown in theatres on December 9 of that year. Several actors, including Richard Mofe-Damijo, Bisola Aiyeola, Iyabo Ojo, Mercy Aigbe, Beverly Naya, Beverly Osu, Neo Akpofure, Chinedu Ikedieze, Segun Arinze, and Eniola Badmus, appear in the movie.

The movie, available on Prime Video is a “family comedy that fits into the Christmas festive season,” according to InkBlot Productions.

A 2020 Nigerian comedy-drama titled Introducing the Kujus was produced and directed by Biodun Stephen. The co-producer and star of the movie is Bisola Aiyeola. Additionally, Timini Egbuson, Femi Jacobs, Bimbo Ademoye, Sophie Alakija, and Mimi Onalaja appear in the Badagry-based drama.

The movie centres on a young woman’s love for her family and how this love brings her family back together and puts an end to long-standing disputes. The movie Introducing the Kujus is appropriate for families to watch, however, parental supervision is encouraged.
