Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu has rejected government’s plan of providing him with personal security

Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu also commonly known as Bobi Wine has said no to government plan of providing him with personal security insisting that Ugandans are there to protect him.

Bobi Wine passed on the remarks while meeting different groups of People Power supporters at his home in Magere on Saturday 25th January.

This comes following comments from the minister of state for Internal Affairs Obiga Kania where he indicated that government plans to provide Bobi Wine with security.

Minister Obiga who was addressing the Parliamentary Committee of Defence and Internal Affairs said that government had already embarked on extra plans to protect Kyagulanyi who recently confirmed his desire to stand for Presidency come 2021.

According to Obiga ever since Kyagulanyi declared his presidential ambitions, it has become the duty and role of government to ensure that he is safe and free from any form of harm and mistreatment.

Bobi Wine who was first to remind the minister about the 2018 tragedy in Arua that saw one of his drivers Yasin Kawuma shot dead implied that the government is his enemy and just pretends to be siding with him.

‘’I saw them saying that Bobi Wine will be given security by force, whether he wants it or not. Do you want to give me the security you gave Abiriga? Do you want to give me the same security that you gave the late Kirumira? Joan Kagezi? Did you give me the said security and it st

Bobi Wine further questioned how the government is going to be able to provide him as an opposition member with the proposed security that they could not offer their ministers who are part of NRM.

“There is a minister who can even call the President but she is also crying that they want to kill her. I have not heard them talking about giving her security. If you don’t have the freedom to speak for yourself, you’re as good as dead. Some people die at 20 but they are buried
