Bebe Cool: Pelting me with bottles cannot stop me from performing at concerts
Singer Moses Ssali commonly known by his stage name Bebe Cool has vowed to continue performing at concerts despite pelting him with bottles.
Bebe Cool who was first to criticise the act said that pelting him with bottles is a sign of fear from the opposition towards the NRM party.
According to Bebe Cool, people should stop chasing artists in such a manner because they do not support a particular party.
“Pelting me with bottles is only exposing your weaknesses. You cannot continue chasing artists like that because they don’t support what you believe in,” Bebe Cool said in an interview.
He further accused some music promoters notably those that subscribe to the People Power Movement led by Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine for sponsoring hooligans who hurled bottles at him.

Bebe cool remarks come days after, he was pelted with bottles while performing his new hit song ‘Feeling’ featuring Nigerian Rude Boy at Cindy’s Boom Party Concert held on Saturday at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
He, however, implied that he has been in the music industry long enough not to be taken up by criticism from fans.
He meanwhile, urged security offices to begin charging at least Shs 5 million from promoters organising very big events and that way they will not have enough resources to sponsor hooligans who pelt bottles at NRM deemed musicians.
Besides, the police can then be able to deploy more plain-clothed officers amongst the crowds to properly deal with any form of hooliganism.
“Our security forces should begin charging at least Shs 5 million from promoters organising very big events. The forces can then be able to deploy more plain-clothed officers amongst the crowds,” Bebe Cool added.
Bebe Cool is not the first victim, many artists mostly those loyal to the ruling NRM party and President Museveni have been at the receiving end of bottles while entertaining fans at various music concerts.
He joins the list of many including fellow singer Big Eye who was rescued off the stage by the security following last year’s performance at Uganda Museum as NBS Television’s UNCUT celebrated its first anniversary.
Other notable incidents have happened over the last few years including the one that saw Catherine Kusasira hurled with bottles and insults while performing at Nabugabo Sand beach in Masaka on Boxing Day last year.
In the same year 2019, another NRM diehard and musician, Full Figure also experienced similar same stage torture.
