Kampala Lord Mayor race: DP’s Charles James Ssenkubuge promises to oversee a changed Kampala city if elected.
After being handed DP ticket to run for the Lord Mayor position in the forthcoming 2021 elections, veteran actor, Charles James Ssenkubuge has promised to oversee a changed Kampala City in case he is elected into power.
Ssenkubuge made the remarks after being announced to replace Beatrice Kayanja who earlier had been nominated as the party’s flag bearer for the Kampala Lord Mayor position but following allegations concerning her academic credentials, the party revised its options.
According to the Democratic Party lawyer, Erias Luyimbaazi, the party revised its options and found that Senkubuge fits the proper requirements they need because he has worked in Kampala for many years and made connections with so many people of all social classes.
“Senkubuge is a senior citizen of this country, he has worked in Kampala for many years and made connections with so many people of all social classes and that is a candidate that DP and Kampala needs.”
Meanwhile, following the abrupt nomination, Ssenkubuge has promised to show Ugandans why he is the right man to rebuild and create a self-sustaining city.
In a released declaration statement, Ssenkubuge reminded Ugandans about everything good he has done in the country over the years and urged that the best is yet to even come from him.
