Balaam said if the allegations are found true, he will still sponsor Ssegirinya’s education in addition to sponsoring his run for a parliamentary position in the 2026 elections.
Events promoter Balaam Barugahara has disclosed that he idolises councillor, Mohammad Ssegirinya because he is caring and very down to earth.
Balaam made the remarks during NBS TV’s Uncut programme last week. He said that, unlike many opposition leaders, Ssegirinya is very down to earth and has helped and supported many suffering Ugandans.
The event’s promoter was responding to a question about Ssegirinya’s false academic documents’ claims. He said that if the allegations posed on him turn out to be fake, he will give him a cow to celebrate with his fans.
“I will be very happy if the accusations are not correct, and I will give Ssegirinya a cow to celebrate with his supporters. I like him because he is different from all the others, he has helped the poor,” Balaam said.
He, however, noted that if the allegations are found true, he will still sponsor Ssegirinya’s education in addition to sponsoring his run for a parliamentary position in the 2026 elections.
“Ssegirinya needs to go back to school and as his supporter, I am ready to pay his school fees once it is declared that he has no genuine qualifications.”
“I will take him to Progressive Kasana Luwero for his O and A levels and even sponsor his run for parliament in the next election no matter his party ticket,” Balaam promised.
Meanwhile, this comes at a time when the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) last week released a statement questioning the credibility of the academic documents which were submitted by councillor Ssegirinya ahead of the January general elections.

In a statement, the Examinations body said that Ssegirinya submitted documents that belong to Sarah Nampiima at O-level while at A-level, he submitted documents that belong to Maureen Nabadda.
“We have checked in our records and our findings are as follows; Candidate U005/054(2017) is Nampiima Sarah who sat at Mengo secondary school, not Ssegirinya Richard sitting at Pimbas secondary school,” Peter Anywar noted in a letter on behalf of the UNEB Executive secretary, Dan Odongo.
“The candidate U005/754 is Nabadda Maureen who sat at Mengo Secondary school not Ssegirinya Richard at Pimbas secondary school,” the letter further added.
