Chris Evans is a Ugandan recording artist and an entrepreneur whose music is common at most of the wedding parties and introduction ceremonies. His first single was Rihana which was his breakthrough hit and it introduced him to the industry.
In 2015 Evans teamed up with a female Musician called Rema Namakula and released a blockbuster hit called Linda which still sounds fresh and classic in most Ugandan ears.
Evans is known for being simple and easy but his character and career is not free from controversies, the standing one was when he claimed that he had been hit by thugs with a hammer on the head which didn’t sink either make sense to most of the Ugandans.
Chris is among the best recording artists when it comes to rumba music which is commonly referred to as Band music.
Early life and education
Chris Evans birth name Christopher Evans Kaweesi was born in 1987. He comes from the family of Jane Nabwami who was a housewife and Christopher Kakooza a builder.
His father was also a church singer at Busawula church of Uganda but he passed on when he was 13 years and his mother started paying school fees, but unfortunately she also passed on when Chris was only 14 years.
Chris paid for his elementary plus his middle school education by performing menial jobs at construction sites.
After his primary education, Ernest Kakulira the then headteacher of Masooli SS volunteered to pay his school fees. He managed to pass his O level examinations with flying colours, scoring 14 points in 8 subjects(the best possible score in 8).
His uncle sponsored him for his A level education at St. Mary’s school boarding secondary school, Kitende, which was a good residential mixed high in Kajjansi off the Kampala Entebbe road. At Kitende Kaweesi studied physics, chemistry and biology, with mathematics as a minor subject.
After his secondary education, he joined Makerere University on government sponsorship and studied Agriculture and graduated with a second degree upper.
Musical career
Chris started singing when he was still a child and he developed a passion for singing from his late father Christopher who was a singer at Busawuula church of Uganda and Chris remembers going with him each time he went to perform.
At the start of his career, Chris says that people always said that he sounded like Qute Kaye of the Ginkese fame.
His idols are the late Elly Wamala and Ronald Mayinja.
Chris Evans joined the music industry in 2007 with his first single titled Rihana which he released in 2009 and was produced by Mozart studios.
This is the song that introduced him to the industry although it didn’t take him miles. In 2010 he released another song called Ndikusasula ki which rocked most of the airwaves in Uganda.
This song was done by producer David and through this song, he managed to do his first concert in 2011 which was a success. This concert created a lot of controversies since it was organized on the same day as chameleon’s concert.
In 2015 Chris Evans teamed up with songbird Rema Namakula to compose a record and perform a critically acclaimed duet named Linda and this single went ahead and received massive airplay.
At one moment Rema Left Chris’s stage when they were performing the song after Evans asked Rema about their relationship with Eddy Kenzo. Evans in 2019 organized another concert titled Bwebinyuma and it was a success.
Relationship
Chris Evans lives a private life despite his celebrity status the first time his love got into the public domain was when Jamirah Karungi a local actress dumped him in 2014.
Karungi is believed to have hooked a city tycoon and it’s reported that Karungi called off the relationship.
The two had meant in 2012 but later after their break up Evans flaunted pictures of him and a good looking young woman on social media saying she is the love of his life but later turned out that she was just a vixen in a new music video he was shooting.

Controversy
On May 7th 2018 news broke out that he had been beaten to the pulp by thugs in the Lungujja Rubaga division.
According to his manager and police reports, the suspected thugs hit his head with a hammer and took off with his vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered but the assailants had taken off.
This incident created a public debate since most of the people didn’t believe this attack.
