Col. Kaka Bagyenda, the ISO Director General announces a crackdown on criminals who use their profession as a cover-up
The Internal Security Organisation (ISO) is set to start employing more advanced and powerful means in dealing with criminals who use their professions as a backing.
“There are many lawyers, doctors, engineers, IT officers, politicians and many others who use their professions as a cover-up to carry out the crime. We shall leave no stone unturned,” Col. Kaka said before adding that these wrongdoers use their big positions to do the crime.

According to Col. Kaka Bagyenda, ISO Director General, they have witnessed so many incidents were criminals work with officials in government and in courts of law to cover up big cases.
Col. Bagyenda however, warns that they have embarked on a tough plan to ensure that all criminals are handled appropriately based on the law other than leaving the few ‘privileged’ to go undealt with because of their status like it has been happening before.
“There are businessmen who on the surface are engaged in business but in the background, they are engaged in criminality. Politicians too won’t be spared because some of them are crooks and international mafia,” Bagyenda stated giving an example of a group of three people including the Lugazi mayor, Deogratius Tumwesigye Mbabazi whom he claimed survived being killed by a group of criminals.

The group currently under ISO custody was working for a certain businessman according to Col. Kaka Bagyenda and they had been tasked to carry out separate attacks on two women in Mukono including the Lugazi mayor.
This is what the criminals told them after they were interrogated, they (criminals) also admitted that they had been hired to raid and steal from three people including Tumwesigye and if they resisted, they would be killed.
“Most young people have been trapped in these criminal networks that are supported by professionals. It is high time we exposed these so-called professions,” Col.Bagyenda implied before assuring that ISO as an organization will ensure they bring all criminals forward for clear public viewing to help in eradicating the increasing cases.

Last month, Col. Kaka Bagyenda of ISO told legislators to use rightful procedures in case they want to be granted access to visit the safe houses.
He advised them to first seek permission from ISO before they could be granted entry permission.
Bagyenda’s advised came after members of Parliament who sit on the Human Rights Committee were denied access inside the houses as they tried to embark on investigations about allegations of increased cases of torture and mistreatment of suspects.
The MPs were locked out of the gate as they tried to access two of the houses, both in Kyengera and Nalukolongo respectively.
