Singer Dr Hilderman attacks promoters for betraying Bobi Wine

Hilary Kiyaga stage name Dr Hilderman, a Ugandan singer has launched an attack against some event promoters and organisers who picked money from Statehouse in compensation of the blocked concerts they organised earlier on.

These blocked concerts were for the Kyadondo East legislator, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.

The promoters and singers include: Abbey Musinguzi of Abittex promotions, Andy Mukasa Bajjo of Bajjo investments, Tony Ssempijja representative of Uganda Music Promoters, Venue Owners Network, Juma Balunywa, Emma Seruga, and Fifi promoter.

Dr Hilderman says Ssepijja picked the money and distributed it to all group members as well as receiving an extra money worth Shs200m for the singers cycle.

This caused silence among these promoters who were good supporters of Bobi Wine raising questions.

Kiyaga strongly condemned the movement of the promoters saying they betrayed their fellow artists because of cash. They regarded cash to be essential other than the rights and liberties of Bobi Wine infringed by the government.

What has killed this nation is people who don’t want to make losses but want other to. The promoters should have cared more about the rights of Bobi Wine rather than their money they lost. It is up to them to know that this country’s situation also concerns them.

Hilderman stated

Dr Hilderman continued to say that he was expecting them to fight for their fellow musician in terms of their rights and liberties.

I would expect such people to fight for Bobi Wine and the entire fraternity. At the end of the day it is doing the right thing.

Following the cancelled musical shows by Bobi Wine, President Museveni offered Shs2.6b to promoters and singers who suffered losses during this saga. Including 200m for the cycle of artists.
