It offers guided bird-watching walks

Bird watching in Uganda is a fascinating experience. The country’s rich natural environment and unique man-made features make it a favorite destination for birdwatchers. 

In fact, no other African country offers such a diverse bird life as Uganda. Here, guests can enjoy guided bird-watching walks to view and photograph birds in their natural habitat. 

During the guided bird-watching walks, guests will be introduced to more than one hundred species of birds.

Mweya safari lodge in Uganda offers several guided bird-watching walks for guests. The first activity is morning birding in the Kazinga channel. 

They may spot an African skimmer, Shoebill, or Grey-headed kingfisher. They will then enjoy a picnic lunch in the forest. 

In the afternoon, guests will have the chance to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park, home to over 550 bird species. 

On the impressive Kazinga Channel in the park, one can find many aquatic birds including the White-faced Whistling, spur-winged plover, squacco heron, fish eagle, open-billed stork, water-thick knee, and knot-billed ducks.

It offers boat excursions on the Kazinga Channel

A boat excursion on the Kazinga Channel is one of the highlights of a visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park

This excursion features two sessions: a morning session that lasts three hours and an afternoon session that lasts three hours. 

You can see a wide variety of wildlife on this boat excursion. You may also spot crocodiles, hippos, and various species of antelope.

The Kazinga Channel is home to the largest hippo population in Africa, with up to 2,000 living in 600 bloats. Hippopotamus and Nile crocodiles live here. 

Other wildlife found here includes antelopes. Lions are rarely seen on boat trips, but are occasionally spotted. During their late afternoon naps, they are most active. 

On a boat trip, you will likely see a wide variety of bird species, including Great White and Pink-Backed Pelicans, African Shoebill, and Saddle Bill Stork. 

Additionally, a variety of bird species thrive along the Kazinga Channel.

It offers massage treatments

The Mweya Health Club and Spa offer a variety of body and massage treatments for both men and women. It also features a sauna, steam bath, and infinity pool. 

This lodge also offers a gift shop and a safe for guests’ valuables. There are 54 rooms at Mweya Safari Lodge, and each is individually decorated and has its own character. 

To ensure a luxurious stay, the lodge only accepts guests with a reservation.

Guests can enjoy a variety of massages and treatments at the health club, which is located on top of the hotel’s three-tiered pool.
