  • For existing BOA business customers, you are required to visit the BOA online website and apply for the bank to call you under the “ways to apply” section.
  • For new customers, you are required to present the following documents;
  • 1 recent passport photo of you (and each director if the business is not a sole proprietorship)
  • Personal, current phone number and email address (as well as for all other directors if the company is not a sole proprietorship)
  • If you are a Ugandan or a foreign national, you must present a valid form of identification, such as a passport, along with all other directors if your business is not a single proprietorship.

Sole proprietorships

  • Trading license
  • TIN
  • Certified copy of the certificate of registration
  • Certified copy of registration particulars of business name/any changes thereof.

Partnership Firms

  • Trading license
  • TIN number 
  • Certified copy of the certificate of registration
  • Certified statement of registered particulars of the business name and any change thereof
  • Registered or a certified copy of the partnership deed

Clubs / Societies / NGOs / Churches / Charities

  • Trust deed (where applicable)
  • Certified copy of the certificate of registration
  • Certified by-laws/constitution/copy of relevant Act
  • Resolution approving the account opening, legally signed by authorized delegates, taken from the club, society, or charity meeting minutes
  • On the club’s, church’s, society’s, NGO’s, or charity’s official letterhead, a letter requesting the opening of an account should be submitted.
  • Trading license
  • TIN

Limited Liability

  • Certified copies of the incorporation certificate (and/or any name changes)
  • Certified bylaws and articles of incorporation, including any amendments
  • Authenticated board of directors’ decision authorizing the account’s opening
  • Letter on business letterhead seeking the opening of an account
  • The most recent annual report
  • The certified copy of the amendments to the director’s and secretary’s information (company form 7)
  • TIN
  • Trading license

Trusts / Administrators / Executors / Liquidators

  • Certified copy of the certificate of registration / Letter of probate or letters of administration
  • The trust deed and supplementary deeds for possible changes in trustees
  • Certified trust resolution as specified in the trust deed
  • Tax identification number for every trustee and signatory
  • The official returns displaying the Trust’s major place of operation or registered office
  • Name of the founder or sponsor (Trusts)
