Kaweesi merder case: Court threatens to throw out Kaweese case

After close to one year and half since news broke in Uganda of the murder of Assistant Inspector General of Police Afande Felix Kaweesi who was brutally shot dead together with his bodyguard near Kisasi a Kampala suburb, many Ugandans both civilians, police officers and politicians have come out to challenge the government to parade the real killers of Kaweesi so that they face justice but all in vein.

The current news coming out of the Nakawa Court are that magistrate one judge Noah Ssajabi threatened to dismiss this case and drop charges against all suspects involved in the death of Felix Kaweesi. The accused include Umar Magada, Ahmed Shaban Ssenfuka, Sheikh Musa Ntende, Hassan Tumusiime, Ibrahim Kissa, Abdul Mjid Ojerere, Asuman Mugoya, Ibrahim Ssemwanga, Swaleh Damulira, Sauda Ayub and osman Muhammed Omar.

What forced Ssajabbi to threaten to clear the accused of the murder of Felix Kaweesi was when the prosecutor asked the judge for more time so that they continue with their investigations. It can be remembered that on February 5th 2018, Defence lawyer Wameli Anthony together with Godfrey Turyamusima asked court to dismiss the case on grounds that the government/state had completely failed to collect enough evidence and proof against the clients/accused and that it will be a waste of time. The absurd Ssajabbi adjourned the court session until 7th June 2018 to give enough time to the state to collect enough time needed.
