Rukutana who owns Radio Ankole described President Museveni as a superhuman individual, very wise, strong and physically fit
Despite his advancing age, President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni has been praised by state minister Rukutana for being a strong and great leader. A leader who can perform better than young leaders.
Mwesigwa Rukutana, the newly appointed State Minister for Labour and Industrial Relations in the recent cabinet reshuffle said. He made the remarks on Saturday 4th, January 2020, during a celebration to mark 14 years of Radio Ankole in Ntugamo town.
Radio Ankole based in Ntungamo District was established in 2006, broadcasting in Runyankole-Rukiga and Kinyarwanda. It reaches out to Kigezi, Tanzania, Rwanda and the greater Ankole Region in Western Part of Uganda.
Rukutana who owns Radio Ankole described President Museveni as a superhuman individual, very wise, strong and physically fit an indication that he’s God-given to rule over leaders.
“I want to confirm to you that NRM is still strong, our chairman is very strong. At age 75 what he does, me Rukutana at 60 can’t do; even my friends can’t do them,” said Rukutana.Tweet
“Pushups he does, the walking, his brain, his thinking, his speaking. He gives a speech even if he has not written, I have moved with him many times and in many places, this man, he was given to us by God, he is a ruler of leaders,” Rukutana added.Tweet
Rukutana says the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has made a lot of transformations. However, he says there are challenges and unaccomplished business which the government hopes to accomplish.
He adds that NRM found out that President Museveni is still strong, wise, hardworking and physically fit that’s why they resolved to amend the Constitution by erasing the age Limit
Because they realised that he’s still a performer, despite his age and his long stay on power which some Ugandans are irritated with.
“That is why as NRM we resolved that if someone is still working well, the issue of age, that he has overstayed, we put off sight. When you see that I can’t distinguish bad from good when you see I am sleeping and that I have no energy, then you can deny me a vote,” Rukutana saidTweet
He adds that;
“But when am still working with zeal and more plans to work for you and I still want to work for you, we saw that would not be a right reason we resolved to amend the age limit. That’s the reason the media and opposition have been against us, and it has been too much.”Tweet
Rukutana however, appealed to the electorate to perform a peaceful election that’s non-violent, free from divisions, hatred, religion and tribal discrimination particularly Ntungamo District for better election results.
He also urged radio users not to pass out insulting messages while on air, planting hatred and intolerance for better and peaceful elections in the country.
