Nabilah ended her time as an FDC party member earlier in July after being denied the chance to run as the party’s flag bearer for the mayoral race.
The Kampala Woman Member of Parliament (MP) Nabilah Naggayi Sempala has lashed out at her former party FDC colleagues claiming that they fear strong women like her.
Nabilah who was delivering a speech after being announced the National Unity Platform (NUP) party flag bearer for the Mayoral race said that she has been a winner in every race she has participated in and as a result, the same should be expected come 2021.
“FDC is threatened by strong women like me. I won the MP position for FDC three times; they know I am a winner. When I come to a race, I do not come to participate but to win. I, therefore, send a message to FDC, that they should expect a sweeping victory by me,” Nabilah said.
Nabilah ended her time as an FDC party member earlier in July after being denied the chance to run as the party’s flag bearer for the mayoral race. The FDC handed the ticket to incumbent Erias Lukwago who recently joined the party from the Democratic Party (DP).
While explaining her desire to quit the party, Nabilah explained that she was mistreated and dumped on the streets by the party without remembering that she has been at the forefront in serving them for 15 years.
She, however, applauded the NUP party for coming to her rescue. The Kampala Woman Member of Parliament said that NUP has made her feel even more appreciated.
“After 15 years of being married to FDC, with all our children, they treated me like trash; they threw me out on the streets. Now a youthful man (NUP) has come to my rescue, wiped away all my tears. I now feel even more appreciated and beautiful,’’ Nabilah said before urging her fellow women that anything is possible.
“This situation should be a message to all women out there, you should know that no matter the mistreatment you face, a time is coming when someone better will come and pick you up, it will not matter how many children you already have. NUP has given me so much joy.’’
Meanwhile, she also lashed out at her competitors for the Mayoral race claiming that Ugandans will vote her the same way they will vote Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine for President come 2021.
“We can’t have a new president, Honorable Kyagulanyi being edged out of his capital city. When Ugandans vote for him, they will also send me to the City hall,” Nabilah said.
