The "DaboDabo MBs" campaign aims to make data affordable for microbusinesses and to reward those who prefer daily data bundles.

One of Uganda’s most dominant telecommunications firms, Airtel Uganda, has brought the price war to MTN Uganda’s doorstep with a massive increase in internet data bundles.

Airtel Uganda, one of the dominant firms in Uganda’s telecommunications industry has brought a price war to MTN Uganda’s doorstep with a massive increase in internet data bundles.

The telecom company doubled daily internet bundles and increased the one on SUPA-combos sevenfold for the same price starting Feb. 21.

Airtel Uganda, which became the second leading telecom company after the exit of three market layers (Warid, Orange and Smart Telecom) has a huge customer base.

Most of the customers are low and average income earners who use daily data bundles more than weekly, monthly or even quarterly.

This deemed it fit for Airtel to revise and launch a new package to benefit them.

The campaign dubbed “DaboDabo MBs” aims at ensuring data affordability for microbusinesses and rewarding all customers who prefer daily data bundles.

With this initiative, Airtel Uganda tops the list of the most affordable daily data bundles. At UGX 250, you now receive 30MBS; at UGX 500, you receive 80MBS; and at UGX 1,000, you receive 180MBS.

This move comes just weeks after MTN Uganda launched and doubled the allocation of daily data bundles at no additional cost.
