Early life and Education
Sheila Salta Saltofte was born in 1992 in Denmark at Hividore Hospital to Mr Peter Saltofte (father) from Denmark and Ms Sophear Matovu (mother) from Uganda.
Sheila describes her childhood as a happy and active one characterized by her always dancing and singing.
She has a son named Liam with Maxim ‘Kizito’ Steurbaut. She gave birth to him in 2013. Salta is currently in a relationship with her new Zungu lover, Johannes who hails from Austria but currently lives in Uganda.
Sheila moved to Uganda in 2002 at the age of ten years for her studies although she ended up gaining interest in becoming a TV show presenter. She however went through several Ugandan schools.
Career and Professional Work Experience
Sheila Salta Saltofte received an offer to work on Ugandan WBS TV on a show called Teens Club when she was 13 years old.
After her first episode, viewers recognised Sheila’s influence as a public figure, and she soon began participating in episodes, shows, parties, and events.
Miss Salta had been appearing on stage as the MC for numerous events, including the Masaka Street Jam, Mirinda Miss Teen, and Buzz Teenz Awards. She also hosted the Buzz Leavers Party, Y+ Beauty Pageant, Club Mega Fest, the MTN 10th Anniversary Celebrations and the MTN Pulse Party.
Sheila started her career by presenting on WBS TV and went on to work on other platforms like Magic 1HD (City Magazine) and Urban TV.
Sheila Salta replaced Fabiola on the Katch Up show in 2020 after transferring from the Urban TV station where she was hosting the “527 on Urban” show. She co-hosts the Katch Up show with Douglas Lwanga and MC Isaac.
In January 2023, Sheila Salta landed a new gig with NRG radio making her the Drive show presenter on frequency 106.5 FM from 3-7 pm Monday to Friday.
Achievements and Awards
Sheila Salta Saltofte has become one of the most popularly known media personalities in Uganda. Sheila has also successfully served as a brand ambassador for some well-known companies.
She is also the CEO of her store Ngabi Style which deals in shoes, bags, clothes and accessories imported from the UK and Turkey.
In June 2022, according to rumours from several websites, Sheila Salta decided to go away from television to focus on her personal life, raising her son, and emceeing various events.
Her absence from the most recent editions of the NBS TV Katch Up show served as fuel for this. Presenter Viana Indi, a new face from Galaxy FM was introduced and appeared to be replacing Salta.
The reports of her reported departure from the Next Media station were debunked by Salta. She insisted that she is staying put at the station and had even appeared on the previous Friday’s Katch Up episode.
After being in a relationship for almost ten years followed by nine months after they became engaged, Sheila Salta and Maxim “Kizito” Steurbaut parted ways in July 2021.
While flaunting his brand-new Mercedes Benz on social media, Maxim disclosed that he and Salta did not get along. Later, they decided to co-parent and end their relationship peacefully.
