The Legend Live Concert: Music legend, Maddox Sematimba is set to hold his long-awaited mega concert this year on 4th October.
The reggae music icon will be performing in one of the most anticipated to be the biggest local music concerts having revamped his musical career by dropping some clear visuals to his previous audio project notably for his hit song ‘Namagembe’.
Meanwhile, the last appeared on stage at Bell Jams Chronixx Show, Sheraton hotel in June this year.
With his concert dubbed ‘Maddox The Legend Live concert’, this will be the first of its kind ever since the Nakatudde singer returned from Sweden and his rehab.
The concert will be held at Sheraton Gardens Kampala a venue that very few artistes have embraced because of its class.
Ordinary tickets will go for only UGX 30,000, VIP for UGX 50,000 and a table for UGX 1Million.
Maddox together with support from other artists including Henry Tigan, Sheebah, Ragga Dee among others will show up on stage to give the fans a memorable day to remember.
Who is Maddox?
Maddox Sematimba is a stage name for the Ugandan roots reggae musician David Amon Ssemanda Ssematimba.
He is regarded as a music legend and icon Uganda because his reggae ballads in Luganda that have always turned up audiences.
Released in 2000, Madoxx’s first album named Tukolagane included the singles “Namagembe”, “Tukolagane”, “Omukwano Gwafe” and “Eddembe”. He followed up in 2006 with the album Abato, with singles like “Nakatudde”, “Leka Nkulage”, “Easy” and “Wansonyi”.
Ssematimba was born in Kampala in 1972. One of Uganda’s Music Legends who have contributed so much to Uganda’s Music industry.
He attended Makonzi Boarding Primary School and Busoga College Mwiri. Before choosing a path in music, Ssematimba worked as a primary school teacher.
He relocated to Stockholm, Sweden in 1991, when he was 21 years old.
While performing in night-clubs to pay for his computer studies, from there, he met Kenneth “Mafo” Ssejjemba Magoye, a fellow musician, who introduced him to Aggrey Ssembatya, the proprietor of Small Axe Productions.
Maddox moved to Gothenburg where he eventually began work on his albums at Small Axe Studios.
He wrote, composed, arranged, programmed, performed, co-mixed and produced all the songs on the albums while Aggrey engineered and co-mixed the albums.
