Uganda leads Group A after beating DRC in AFCON 2019

Uganda has achieved its first win against the Democratic Republic of Congo in the African Cup of Nation (AFCON 2019) after 41 years.

The Saturday 22, 2019 match against DR. Congo has pushed Uganda to the top of group A – ahead of Egypt the host nation on goal difference in the African Cup of Nations.

Uganda scored a goal in each half time at Cairo International Stadium by Patrick Kaddu and Emmanuel Okwi because DR. Congo had poor defence team.

This win has now propelled Uganda to the top of the table. Uganda Crane last won the African Cup of Nations in March 1978 against Nigeria in semi-finals before they lost the game to Ghana who hosted the march during that time.

Since then Uganda failed to qualify for the African cup of Nations until when they made it in Gabon two years’ back, after obtaining a draw in three matches they played.
