Finally, after a long wait, the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament has also registered its first goalless draws.
Three games with a 0-0 scoreline are just enough, to sum up, the package as to why African tournaments have been termed as ‘boring’ for the past years.
Though goalless draws are a common trait to African football tournaments, today’s was quite special as out of all the three fixtures played on the same day non registered a goal
Mauritania 0-0 Angola
Cameroon 0-0 Ghana
Benin 0-0 Guinea Bissau
Angola, Cameroon and Benin played to goalless draws against Mauritania, Ghana and Guinea Bissau respectively.
In the first game of the day, Angola wasted the chance to go top of Group E after they failed to beat weak opponents Mauritania.
Appropriately, Cameroon remained top of group F after picking up a point against tough group opponents Ghana.
In the same group (F), Benin also failed to beat Guinea Bissau to go on the same level of points with leaders Cameroon.
Meanwhile other group F sides Ghana and Benin are on two points while Guinea Bissau has only one point.
