Cranes defender Murushid Jjuuko ready for Egypt clash

Uganda Cranes’ coach Sebastien Desabre has confirmed that defender Murushid Jjuuko will be available for his side’s last group game of the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations clash against Egypt on Sunday.

Addressing the media on a pre-match interview on Saturday, Desabre said that the impactful defender had an arm string injury which kept him out of their match with hungry opponents Zimbabwe on June 26th.

“He had a pain in the hamstring. He needed rest. He will be available for selection”. We are ready for Egypt,” said Desabre.

Desabre also pointed out that there clash with the Pharaoh’s on Sunday will be another difficult match but he is confident his charges who have improved over the years can display a top performance as they did against DR Congo.

“It is another game for us to play a very good team. It will be another difficult match. We have a chance to display the football just like we did against DRC,” he said.

“Step by step this team has improved a lot over the years. I know they will be out to play good football against a very good team but my players are determined to make a further impression during this tournament,” he added.

The French man as well indicated that his side will be more motivated to play against a great side in Egypt.

“We are here to play football. I’m confident of my players and they will be motivated to play against Egypt,” he said.

“We are not focusing on individual players. The entire team is focussed and ready to go. We are concentrating on our last game to qualify to the round of 16,” he added.

Meanwhile, a draw against the Pharaoh’s on Sunday will cement Uganda’s position in the knockout round.
