NBS Television presenter Annet Nambooze commonly known by her stage name Anna Talia Oze has finally announced her decision to join elective politics.
Anna Talia confirmed her desire to run for the Rubaga North Lord Woman councillor slot earlier this week emphasizing that she is mainly focused on tackling the high unemployment levels among youths not only in her area but the country as a whole.
She emphasized that seeing many people in her home strive hard to afford even the simplest necessities has influenced her decision to join the struggle and see how they can support them in one way or the other.
“The struggle to afford basic necessities by many of you was and is still my struggle. The fear to slip into poverty, the raging issue of youth unemployment are still my fears. I know what it means to be born and raised in this constituency in every sense including the challenges of my people. I grew up in a very modest home that struggled and depended on hard work to survive,” Anna emphasized.
“I have experienced through family and friends first-hand, the challenges of HIV, challenges of unemployment and underemployment. I know what poverty means to many of us. I grew and lived through it.’’
Nambooze who urged her constituencies to vote her as their voice of change mentioned that she is going to stand as an independent candidate because she has a niche with all parties she would have affiliated herself with.
“Bobi Wine is one of the people we look at and hope will change many things in Uganda today. On the other hand, I have many friends in the ruling NRM party and they have the same problems like us who are not in government,’’ Nambooze explained.
“I want to be your voice and I hope, working with you, will help all of us bring the change.”
Meanwhile, Anna Talia Oze first came to the limelight working on Spark Television’s prominent entertainment programme, Live Wire from where she joined NBS TV and she is currently hosting the Uncut programme, also an entertainment show aired from Monday to Saturday.
