According to Patrick Onyango the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, one person died from Kawolo Hospital following an accident that happened Monday at Mayangayanga along Nagoje Road.

Onyango said that the accident which happened during the morning hours of the day involved a police motor vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser, and two civilian-owned motorcycles.

He said that the two motorcycle riders were riding carelessly and yet each of them was carrying two passengers. 

Onyango explained that one lost control and collided with the other. As a result of the collision, the riders and passengers fell in the middle of the road and were knocked by a police car.

“The accident that happened at around 1110 hours, involved a police motor vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser, and two civilian owned motorcycles. One motorcycle registration number is UDR 448C Bajaj red in colour while the registration of the other wasn’t identified,” Onyango said.

“The two motorcycle riders were riding carelessly and each was carrying two passengers. One lost control of his motorcycle and knocked the other. The riders and passengers fell in the middle of the road and were knocked by a police car.”

Onyango also said that the one person identified as Jonathan Ssempala, 28 sustained injuries and was rushed to Kawolo Hospital were he died.

Still, on the same scene, the police spokesperson said that five other people all residents of Nakifuma, Mukono District are still nursing wounds after their vehicle overturned.

“Vincent Ssempijja, 18, is still admitted at Kawolo Hospital while the others have been referred to Mulago Referral Hospital. They are Moses Ssentongo, 24, Steven Ssebuliba, 30, Robert Kigozi, 22, and Medi Ssebadeki. All are residents of Nakifuma, Mukono District.”

One person has died from Kawolo Hospital as a result of an earlier accident that happened today at Mayangayanga along Nagoje Road.

The accident that happened at around 1110 hours, involved a police motor vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser, and two civilian-owned motorcycles. One motorcycle registration number is UDR 448C Bajaj red in colour while the registration of the other wasn’t identified.

The two motorcycle riders were riding carelessly and each was carrying two passengers. 

As the two riders were riding their motorcycles, one lost control of his motorcycle and knocked the other. The riders and passengers fell in the middle of the road and were knocked by a police car. 

One victim was rushed to Kawolo Hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, he has passed on. The deceased has been identified as Jonathan Ssempala, a 28-year-old. 

In related developments, five people sustained injuries when the vehicle they were in overturned.

Vincent Ssempijja, 18, is still admitted at Kawolo Hospital while the others have been referred to Mulago Referral Hospital.
