KCCA FC has named a contingent of 34 people to travel for their CAF Champions League encounter with the Namibian based African Stars FC on Saturday 10th August.
The team headed by Rogers Byamukama as the Leader of Delegation together with two club Board representatives in Aggrey Ashaba (Club Chairman) and George Okello Opio (Board member) will travel to Windhoek, Namibia for their first fixture in the 2019/2020 CAF Champions League tournament.
The team also comprises 18 players including seven coaches, two doctors, two media personnel and two administrators.
Meanwhile, other administrators namely, Michael Kirunga (Finance Manager) who doubles as the advance party for this trip, Moses Kaddu (Manager Administration and Operations), Moses Magero Mwanje (Public Relations Officer) and Aminah Babirye (Photographer/ Media Officer) will also be part of the travelling group.
The traveling technical team will be led by the club’s manager, Mike Hilary Mutebi, Morley Byekwaso (Assistant Manager), Badru Kaddu (First Team Coach), Daniel Kiwanuka (Goal Keeper Coach), Jackson Magera (Asst Coach 1), Richard Malinga (Asst Coach 2) and Robert Kabuye (Asst Coach 3).
For the travelling squad of players, two goalkeepers in Charles Lukwago (Captain) and Jamil Malyamungu made the 18 – man squad.
Peter Magambo, Eric Ssenjobe, Samuel Kato, Filbert Obenchan, Mustafa Kizza, Herbert Achai and Hassan Musana are the defenders part of the Kampala based club’s travelling contingent.
While Lawrence Bukenya, Muzamiru Mutyaba, Sadam Juma, Gift Ali Abubakar and Nicholas Kasozi sum up the list of midfielders.
In addition to four forwards in Sadat Anaku, Allan Okello, Mike Mutyaba and Patrick Kaddu.
Appropriately, Allan Kyambadde is not included in the 18 – man list due to speculations linking him to Egypt based clubs.
Three players in Nicholas Kasozi, together with the newly-promoted Sadat Anaku and Samuel Kato from the team’s academy will be looking to make their CAF debut outing with KCCA FC.
The team will depart for Namibia aboard Rwanda air on Wednesday morning at 0650hrs through Kigali, Johannesburg and finally Windhoek Namibia at 2100hrs.
KCCA FC will play African Stars FC in the 1st leg of the CAF Champions League – Preliminary Round on Saturday 10th August 2019 at Sam Nujoma Stadium, Windhoek an artificial turf at 1500hrs CAT and 1600hrs EAT.
The Startimes Uganda Premier League champions will be looking to a positive result in the 1st leg in a bid to have an upper hand going into the 2nd leg scheduled for Friday 23rd August 2019 at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
