Hon Muhammad Nsereko, a Kampala Central MP, has rubbished rumours that actor and former Lubaga South legislator, Kato Lubwama, is dead.
The Kampala Central Member of Parliament, Hon Muhammad Nsereko has rubbished the talk that the former Lubaga South county legislator and actor, Kato Lubwama is dead.
In an interview with Sanyuka television, Nsereko said Kato Lubwama has undergone a series of surgeries and so far the evidence he has is that he is responding well to the treatment.
“We thank Allah that Kato is still alive. He has undergone a number of surgeries from the time he was still here and now in Turkey where he was admitted to the ICU but he is progressing well and getting better,” Nsereko said.
In addition, he said Kato’s bills are not so worrying because so many people including his friends and legislators of the 10th Parliament have been quick to aid him with some financial assistance.
“And all his friends who want to render financial support but can’t get in touch you can reach out to me. Kato has so many friends and we are willing to do the best we can including selling off some of our assets to ensure he gets better and I Know he is fighter he will win the battle,” Nsereko added.
Meanwhile, the Kasambya Country Member of Parliament, Hon David Kabanda recently tweeted promising to follow up on Parliament’s pledge to support the former MP.
“The 10th Parliament has been helpful to Kato Lubwama, who is admitted in Turkey. I have informed the Speaker and Deputy Speaker about him, and they have pledged to help. I will follow up,” Kabanda tweeted.
This comes at a time when Kato Lubwama’s family has also since come out to disregard any reports linking to the death of the former Lubaga South county MP.
In a video making rounds on social media, one credible source and family member who was not identified by name said the MP is still alive although he’s still battling with illnesses.
Kato Lubwama was admitted to Turkey for an operation last month with heart complications.
For the past two days, several sources have been reporting that Kato Lubwama is dead including events promoter Alfonso Mukasa Andrew alias Bajjo who recently tweeted raising doubts about whether the former was still alive or dead.
“Unconfirmed news from Turkey, former Rubaga MP might be gone body parts froze long time ago please Government of Uganda u have kept a deaf ear if it’s true silaba omuntu wa gov’t yena kulumbbe lwe u carnibals mwagala baffu,” Bajjo Events tweeted earlier on.
