President Museveni Pledges Support to Sseninde Foundation for equipping youths with skills on hand, donates Shs100m.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Museveni who praised private initiatives for effectively playing a vital role in lifting the education system in the country, indicated that such initiatives are important in helping youths to start up their jobs and avoid looking for employment.
Besides, Museveni urged all graduates to use the skills they have acquired to help them start up their jobs.
“I bless this project by Sseninde and I will add Shs100 million in the foundation,”
President Museveni made the remarks while officiating the graduation ceremony of Sseninde Foundation were 30,000 women and youth completed training in various vocational skills.
He also pledged to provide them with tailoring and salon equipment as capital (Entandikwa) for their start-up businesses.
“We have a very big market for these products. We must make them, get jobs for youth, create wealth and also circulate money in our economy,” Museveni said before he applauded Rosemary Sseninde, the minister for Primary Education for starting up the project.
“I want to thank my daughter Sseninde Rosemary for the good work she has done. It means Rosemary has understood the diagnosis of NRM as far as solving unemployment is concerned,” Museveni said.

Sseninde Foundation was founded in 2006 and registered as an NGO.
As an NGO, the organization was set up with the main goal of empowering of women and the girl-child, through providing life and technical skills, knowledge dissemination, sport and sensitization.
