Quinn Abenakyo lands Uganda’s ambassadorial role

After winning Miss World Africa and finishing among the top five beauty queens that happened over the weekend in Sanya, China, Uganda’s reigning Miss Uganda Quinn Abenakyo, 22 has landed the tourism ambassador according to officials in the Ministry of tourism.

According to the Chairperson of the Uganda Tourism Board, Mr Daudi Migereko said that Quin Abenakyo after winning Miss World Africa crown, she has shed a positive light on Uganda.

He said that the country could experience a boost in tourism with the beauty queen taking on the role of a kind of tourism ambassador for the country. Migereko says that Abenakyo has put the image of the country on a different trajectory and plans by the government are underway to position in such a way that its tourism sector benefits.

Quinn Abenakyo made history recently when she managed to make it to the top five contestants at the Miss World competitions Abenakyo faced four other contestants which included Miss Mexico Vanessa Ponce de Leon (Miss World America), Miss Jamaica Kadija Robinson (Miss World Caribbean), Miss Thailand Nicolene Pichapa(Miss world Asia and Oceania) and Miss Beralus, Maria Vasilevich for the 68th miss world crown. The crown was given to Mexico’s Vanessa Ponce De Leon who was the overall winner of the competitions.

Reports indicate that Abenakyo is expected to land in Uganda in a week’s time.
