The UPDF Engineering Brigade is working around the clock to complete construction works at the ancestral home of the late Speaker Jacob Oulanyah in Ayom Lony village, Lalogi sub-county, Omoro district.

The team embarked on this construction work after President Museveni’s pledge last week while meeting Acholi legislators to complete the Oulanyah’s unfinished house in Omoro and also cover education expenses for his children and his dependants.

Now, Flash Uganda Media has learnt that the team from UPDF are working day and night to refurbish one of the old houses ahead of the deceased’s burial next week.

Speaking to journalists last week, the Omoro district chairperson, Douglas Peter Okello said Oulanyah’s mansion was at 70% before his death.

Okello however, revealed that with the intervention of the UPDF engineering brigade, the contractors hope to achieve at least a 90 per cent completion rate of the house before Oulanyah’s body arrives home for burial.
