Busoga United have claimed a comfortable 3-0 win over their location neighbours, BUL Football Club.

Following a fair start in the 2019/2020 season, Busoga united registered a win in their fourth game of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League in a game at Njeru Technical Center.

Goals from Lawrence Tezikya, Joel Madondo together with recruit Boban Zirintusa gave Busoga United a perfect win in the Jinja based derby.

This was Busoga’s first win against Bul FC after all the previous encounters between the two sides ended in a draw.

Three goals in the space of 25 minutes in the second half made sure Busoga left Njeru the jubilant side.

Dominating highly in possession, Bul failed to cut the edge in front of the goal leaving the match goalless.

Clinical Busoga put the game 1-0 ahead in the 72nd minute after substitute Ivan Wani was brought down by Ochola in the box, second-half substitute Boban Zirintusa stepped scored to put his side ahead.

Before that, earlier in the game, Busoga could have gone bettered their score after Joel Madondo beat defender Walter Ochola but skipper Dennis Okot’s last-ditch tackle denied the striker.

The visitors were again at it, this time goalkeeper Ali Kimera superbly denying James Otim as he attempted to round him. Kimera again denied Otim as the latter was left with only the keeper to beat.

With eight minutes left to play, Madondo scored Busoga’s second goal of the game and it was one he will savour for years to come.

A poor clearance from the BUL defenders fell onto Madondo who superbly took it onto his chest before unleashing a thunder strike into the roof of the net.

Busoga was not yet done though, teenage striker Lawrence Tezikya came on late to score a third deep into stoppage times.

The goal ensured Peter Onen’s men suffered their first loss of the season, and ended their 100% start to the season.

Busoga meanwhile picked up their second win in a row, and climb to third on the log, a point behind leaders Wakiso Giants.

The win meant that Busoga has picked up their second win in a row while Bul side suffered a first loss of the season, and ending their unbeaten record.

Meanwhile, the other game of the day ended in a one-all draw between Bright Stars Football Club and Wakiso Giants.

However, the final whistle saw one player beat up a fan for criticising him after his poor performance in a game that was played at the Betway Muteesa II stadium.

Wakiso Giants’ recruit, Krizeton Ntambi punched a fan for allegedly criticising his match contribution coupled with abuses.
