This year’s Buzz Teenz Awards took place on December 19 2021, and Swangz Avenue artist Azawi won big, as well as NBS TV and XFM.
On December 19 2021, the 15th edition of the Buzz Teenz Awards took place. Swangz Avenue’s Azawi, NBS TV, and XFM were among the winners.
Among the celebrities who attended the event were Douglas Lwanga, Mc Kats, Naava Grey, Vinka, Solomon Kampala, and Shalom Namagembe.
Pia Pounds, Zex Bilangilangi, An Known, and Vinka were among the artists performing at the event.
Priscilla Zawedde, commonly known as Azawi, won five awards at the Buzz Teenz Awards 2021, including Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, Pop Song of the Year, and Teenz Flyest Video.
Azawi was able to defeat other singers such as Liam Voice, Fik Fameica, and Pallaso for the title of ‘Teenz Artist of the Year’.
Azawi beat out Daddy Andre, An Known, and Mudra for the title of ‘Teenz Hottest Songwriter’.
She also won the award in the highly competitive ‘Teenz Female Artist’ category, beating Pia Pounds, Sheebah and Spice Diana.
The news comes just one week after Azawi was named Female Artist of the Year and Outstanding Album of the Year (African Music) at the 2021 Janzi awards.
Another big winner from the Buzz Teenz Awards 2021 was Next Media Services’ NBS TV. NBS TV won four awards: Teenz Hottest TV Personality, Teenz TV Show, Teenz TV Station, and Lifetime Achievement.
XFM, the 94.8 radio station, won four categories at the Buzz Awards: Teenz Hottest Radio Station, Teenz Hottest Radio Program, Teenz Hottest DJ, and Teenz Hottest Collabo.
Pallaso on the other hand won ‘Teenz Male Artist’, beating Zex Bilangilangi, Fik Fameica, and Liam Voice.
In the Teenz Breakout Artist competition, Zisabusolo Willy, better known on stage as Liam Voice, beat out Aroma, Zuli Tums, and An Known.
