Andrew Kabuura has joined NBS TV, a Next Media station, moments after announcing his departure from Nation Media Group’s NTV Uganda.

Having announced his departure from Nation Media Group station, NTV Uganda, Andrew Kabuura has now joined Next Media broadcaster NBS TV.

Kabuura previously operating the Pressbox, a popular sports show on NTV for the last four years quit working at the station earlier this week. Inside sources however indicated that he had fallen out with his bosses over contract issues.

“He took his Pressbox franchise to Nextmedia after a disagreement with NMG over contract issues,” one source who preferred anonymity disclosed.

Meanwhile, with all the ongoing talk, Kabuura has joined the Naguru-based station. In a tweet confirming the news, the press box commended his former bosses for availing him of the opportunity.

He, however, didn’t mention why he had to make the big-money-move to the Naguru station, which is known for not nurturing but poaching highly skilled workers from their competitors in business.

Kabuura will be joining the growing list of NTV journalists joining NBS. 

Douglas LwangaMC Kats, Raymond Mujuni (who later returned to Serena), Hatmah Nalugwa Ssekaaya, Zahara Toto, and Annatalie Ozzie, among others, already crossed sides.

According to a source, Kabuura, who loves them juicy, convinced one of his trusted sports journos, Mark Ssali, with whom he has been manning the show to join him. 

The other colleagues; Andrew Mwanguhya, Ismail Dhakaba Kigongo, and Joel Khamadi, staying behind.

Who is Kabuura?

Andrew Kabuura is a Ugandan sports journalist and commentator known for his sports programs on DSTV’s SuperSport, NTV Uganda and Radio City. 

The last born in a family of 4, Kabuura was born in Ntungamo District.

He was raised by a single mother and with the aid of his uncle after their dad passed on in 1994. Kabuura often speaks of his uncle who helped raise him.

He is married to NTV Uganda and Capital FM media personality Flavia Tumusiime and the two have one son Liam Ashaba Kabuura.
